About Linda
Color and texture have fascinated me since my early childhood attempts with glue and paper. Twenty years as a floral designer gave me an opportunity to learn more about color, composition and creativity.
From painting to mixed medium, texture and dimension became my passion. Exploring papers led me to Joomchi. Using this beautiful, organic technique in my work created textures that took my collages to a new level.
I realized that I enjoy drawing in the art observer and seeing them wonder at my art. They ask what medium I use. They want to touch it. They are always surprised that it began as paper.
My journey with Joomchi is far from over. I am inspired as I continue to experiment and learn from this ancient technique that absolutely belongs as a contemporary artist’s medium.
Linda lives in the gorgeous Bitterroot Valley in western Montana.
